SeQRity!
SeQRity! is a hybrid virtual-real team game where two teams, equipped with health points and QR code scanners, battle for victory. Each team consists of a Hunter and a Seeker. The Seekers must find the Jackpot QR code in the room, while the Hunters try to drain their health points. Once a QR code is scanned, the scanned codeword (e.g. "Schabernack") must be entered at the station. However, the code only counts if the following mini-game is completed within the time. But that's not all – at random intervals, all roles switch, turning Hunters into Seekers. Don't get caught and find the Jackpot QR code!
Instructions
Preparation
At the start of the game, the four players form two teams, each consisting of one Hunter and one Seeker. Team Blue begins with the preparation phase—now the Blue Seeker enters their name and selects three QR codes of their choice. On the back of each QR code, there is a letter that must be entered at the station.
Next, the player sticks all three Health QR codes onto their back. The QR codes must not be covered or placed too close to each other. Once the Hunter has also registered, a Jackpot QR code must be entered. Keep this Jackpot QR code to yourselves for now. This process is then repeated for the other team.
Once all players are registered, the hiding phase begins. One team leaves the room while the other team hides the Jackpot QR code.
Important: The Jackpot QR code must be placed between waist and eye level and must remain fully visible (not covered, not under surfaces, etc.).
After that, the team leaves the room, and the other team hides their Jackpot QR code. If a team accidentally finds the opposing team's QR code during this process, the hiding phase must be repeated.
Play Phase
That’s it – all preparations are complete! The play phase can now begin.
As soon as "Done, start game!" is pressed at the station, a countdown begins. The teams should spread evenly throughout the room during the countdown. Once the countdown reaches 0, the game starts.
Now, the Seekers must try to find, scan, and enter the opposing team's Jackpot QR code at the station. Meanwhile, the Hunters must scan the Health QR codes of the opposing Seekers and enter them at the station.
When a QR code is scanned, a code word appears on the device, e.g., Schabernack. This word must be entered at the station. If the station is occupied, the player must wait until it's available.
Once a correct code is entered, a mini-game is triggered—e.g., Jump three times on your left foot. The player who entered the code must complete the challenge. Upon successful completion, they press Space, and one health point is deducted from the scanned Seeker. However, if the mini-game timer runs out before completion, the mini-game is lost, and no health points are deducted from the opponent.
If the entered code is a Jackpot Code, the team wins the game if the mini-game is successfully completed. If a player's health points drop to 0, their team loses the game.
